Prigodom završetka osnovnog školovanja generacije 2015.-2023. u ponedjeljak, 3. srpnja u Dvorani sv. Terezije Avilske u Požegi organiziran je prigodni program na kojemu su učenicima uručene svjedodžbe i odana razna priznanja. Na početku programa zbor Katoličke osnovne škole u Požegi pod ravnanjem prof. Valentine Ivić izveo je hrvatsku himnu i pjesmu “Ovo je dan”, a potom se prisutnima obratio ravnatelj Frano Barišić koji je podijelio svoja razmišljanja o ovoj generaciji osmaša. Zahvalio je osnivaču Škole biskupu Antunu Škvorčeviću, roditeljima, djelatnicima Škole, napose razrednicama, za sve dobro što su utkali u živote povjerenih im učenika i na kraju je pozvao osmaše da nastave širiti, u novim sredinama u koje odu, ono što su naučili u Katoličkoj osnovnoj školi u Požegi. Nakon ravnatelja prisutnima su se obratile razrednice Davorka Olić Mikić i Žana Kajinić. Obje su kratko, ali jezgrovito iznijele svoj završni govor zahvalivši učenicima, ali i njihovim roditeljima, na suradnji i poželjevši im sreću u daljnjem školovanju. Potom su refleksije na svoje osnovnoškolske dane iznijeli učenici Ana Ognjenčić i Petar Barišić.
Obraćajući se učenicima koji su završili osnovnoškolsko obrazovanje, biskup Antun ih je zapitao jesu li zaboravili većinu od onoga što su učili u osmome razredu, na što su mu učenici potvrdno odgovorili. Pohvalio je njihovu iskrenost i kazao kako uistinu mi ne zadržimo u pamćenju sve ono što smo naučili. No, sve što smo učili ostaje na svoj način utkano u dublju razinu našega bića nego li je umna, te se slaže u određeno virtualno stanje koje nazivamo iskustvo pa mi na temelju toga postajemo sposobni prosuđivati i donositi pravilne životne odluke. Taj proces dobiva na snazi i cjelovitosti kad u njega kao vjernici uključimo osjetljivost za Boga i omogućujemo mu da bude prisutan u dubini našega bića i kad u njegovu svjetlu pristupamo određenim životnim stanjima naša sloboda donosi prava opredjeljenja. Biskup je kazao osmoškolcima kako zbog svega spomenutoga škola nije tek vježbaonica uma, nego se u njoj odvija dublji i cjelovitiji dinamizam koji u njihove mladenačke osobnosti, u njihova srca donosi iskustvo po kojem postaju mudri ljudi. To je nešto što na neki virtualan način ostaje trajno u nama, za razliku od naučenih stvari koje u svojim pojedinostima mogu brzo nestati iz našega pamćenja.
Biskup je zahvalio učenicima na svemu što su nastojali činiti za vrijeme osnovnoškolskog razdoblja, napose na onome što im je pomoglo da rastu u svojoj osobi iznutra, u svom duhovnom biću. Istaknuo je kako im je posebno zahvalan što su tijekom školovanja očitovali da im je napose važan Bog i njegova prisutnost u njihovim mladenačkim bićima. Čestitao im je što su izrasli u spomenutim dimenzijama, pa njihov završetak osnovne škole smijemo nazvati malom maturom, a njih smatrati kao mladenački zrele ljude. Biskup je uputio zahvalu i svim učiteljima i djelatnicima škole koji su ih pratili kroz minulo razdoblje. Naposlijetku biskup je zahvalio i roditeljima, rekavši kako je po njihovom zauzimanju i suradnji škola postala njihova proširena obitelj. Pripomenuo je da s ponešto tuge prati odlazak učenika iz Katoličke osnovne škole u Požegi, ali s nadom da će ono što je u njih ugrađeno tijekom osam godina biti njihova snaga. Zaželio im je da uz Božju pomoć budu onaj naraštaj mladih ljudi u Hrvatskoj koji će je činiti velikom. Potaknuo ih je da ne hode, kako reče pjesnik, maleni ispod zvijezda, nego da rastu u svojim sposobnostima i srcima, uvijek s Bogom.
Potom je uslijedilo proglašenje učenika generacije i dobitnika Nagrade “Sv. Josip” koja se dodjeljuje za izniman doprinos promoviranju Škole na lokalnoj i državnoj razini, a nagrade je učenicima uručio biskup Antun. Za učenika generacije izabran je učenik Damjan Leko, dok je učenica Rebeka Mlakar ovogodišnja dobitnica Nagrade “Sv. Josip”.
Uslijedila je dodjela svjedodžbi svim učenicima, a nakon što su prisutni pogledali zanimljive filmove načinjene od fotografija koje su načinili sami učenici, program je zaključen još jednom izvedbom školskog zbora.
